Alexandra’s Cookie Dreams™ ships all our packages via UPS.

Do you ship to Alaska and Hawaii?

Yes, we ship to Alaska and Hawaii.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Unfortunately, we cannot ship outside the U.S.

Does UPS require a signature for delivery?

Business addresses do require a signature, but not necessarily from the recipient whose name is on the box. Anyone in the building is able to sign for the package. Residential addresses do not require a signature but if there is no one at the home to accept the package it is up to the UPS driver’s discretion if he/she feels comfortable leaving the package outside the address. UPS will make three delivery attempts before returning the package to Alexandra’s Cookie Dreams™. UPS will leave a note on the door following each delivery attempt.

How do I track my package?

Once your cookies have shipped out, you will receive an e-mail from UPS with your tracking number and then when your cookies arrive at their destination you will receive an e-mail notification of delivery. You can also use your tracking number at www.ups.com. Click on the “Tracking” icon in the upper left hand corner and enter your tracking number.  If you prefer you can always contact us with your order number and we will track your cookie package for you!

When should I expect my cookies?

Orders received by 6AM Central Standard Time (CST) will be processed and shipped within 48 hours of the order date, excluding holidays. Orders received after 6AM CST will be logged as received the next business day and processed within 48 hours of that order date.  If you want your cookies delivered on a future date (longer than 48 hours in advance) please note that in the comment section and we will happily honor your request.

What are my UPS shipping options?

We ship UPS Next Day Air and 2nd Day Air (Early AM and Air Saver options available for certain locations) and UPS Ground. We will ship for Saturday deliveries, however UPS charges an additional $12.50 for Saturday deliveries, which we will in turn charge the customer. Also, please note that UPS doesn’t deliver to all areas on Saturday. Please email or call us, if you need a package to arrive on Saturday.

"Free Texas Shipping" is available for all deliveries in Texas excluding custom, corporate and wholesale. Free Texas shipping is for 1 day UPS ground delivery. Just a note for deliveries outside of Texas- we suggest shipping Next Day Air or 2nd Day Air for optimum freshness, however we do pack our cookies in heat reflective bubble wrap with an ice pack, so either way they will arrive ridiculously delicious! Check the UPS map below to see how long a ground-shipped package would take in transit to your delivery location.

Can I get my cookies on a weekend?

Generally no, we don't do weekend delivery. This is because UPS only delivers to a few areas on Saturdays (and for an additional fee of $12.50), so we don't generally offer Saturday delivery. That means for any given week, the last day to order 2nd Day Air is Wednesday, and the last day to order Next Day Air is Thursday. If it is a cookie emergency, give us a call, and we'll see what we can do!

Shipping Strategies (More Cookies for your Dough!)

Larger orders cost less per pound to ship. Doubling your order usually means shipping only goes up a few dollars. UPS calculates it's costs based on location, weight ranges, and size ranges, so in some cases, increasing your order may not even increase shipping costs. See our example shipping chart below.

Is there a charge for hand deliveries?

Yes. We offer a hand delivery option for the Austin, TX area via a delivery service. The minimum charge is $6 and it goes up from there, depending on the area. Please call us for delivery charges.

How does pick-up work?

If you are in the Austin, TX area, you have a pick-up option for your cookie order. ACD does not have a storefront, so you can pick-up orders at our office location for no shipping charges. Please call or email for pick-up options.

How do you package your cookies to protect them from the heat during shipping?

We know heat, living in Texas, and our cookies need to be protected, therefore we package our cookie boxes and tins first in bubble wrap and then in foil heat resistant bubble wrap with reusable cold gel packs to keep the cookies insulated from the heat. There are also a couple of tips we suggest to help ensure that your cookies arrive in their best condition. Try to have a recipient available to meet the cookie delivery person because cookies left outside for a length of time in the heat could become damaged. You may want to ship to an office address over a home address to reduce this concern. Also, in times of extreme heat, 75 Degrees Fahrenheit or above, in either Austin or in your delivery city, you may want to consider the one–day delivery option. You can always log onto weather.com and type in your recipients zip code for the accurate temperature. We will automatically package your cookies using this method if we think the temperature necessitates it at no additional cost to you.

What if I need to change an address for an order that has already gone out or been shipped?

UPS charges a $10 fee for "Package Interception," which we will in turn charge the customer. If you call the day an order has been shipped, UPS can most likely change the address of the package that is in transit without delay.
If you need to change an address of a package that is being hand-delivered and already in transit, the charge will depend on the location of the new address.

What if the address is incomplete/incorrect on my package?

UPS charges an additional $10 for an Incorrect or Incomplete Address and we will in turn charge the customer. To avoid this charge, please be sure to include a phone number and all shipping information. For example, if the address is a “Lane,” “Street,” “Blvd” or “Avenue.” If we put an incorrect address on the package, we will either refund you the total cost or ship you a new package at no charge and we will give you a $20 gift certificate to use towards a future purchase with Alexandra’s Cookie Dreams™. If you put an incorrect or incomplete address and the recipient refuses the package and it is returned to Alexandra’s Cookie Dreams™, we are unable to refund you the price of your order.

Can you do same day shipping or delivery?

We know what it’s like to need cookies last minute and we’ll do everything we can to provide you with same day shipping or delivery. However, due to our cookies being made fresh for each order, we may not be able to honor each request. After receiving your request, we will contact you to let you know what we can do. There is an additional 15% charge for same day orders.

How do I know my online order was received at your company?

You will receive confirmation e-mail once your order has been received. Please review the information provided so that we can make any necessary changes before shipping your order.

What if I need to cancel an order?

We hope this doesn’t happen! Unfortunately, we cannot refund you the price of your order. Also, please note that your cookie order cannot be changed once it has shipped.

How far in advance can I place an order?

The earlier the better! We’ll be sure not to bake your cookies until just before the scheduled shipping or delivery date.

Can I order cookies by email, phone or fax?

Absolutely, however we prefer phone or email for faster service. Please be sure to include;

  1. Your name, billing address and phone number.
  2. The cookie package(s) you want, and when you want it (them) shipped.(if longer than 48 hours)
  3. The recipient(s) name and address (if other than you) and gift message. (limit 50 characters)

Upon receiving your order, customer service will contact you to gather payment information. Please do not send your credit card information through email.

How big and heavy are your cookies?

The size and weight of our hand-made cookies vary depending on the flavor. Our cookies are approximately 3½” to 4’’ round and the overall average weight of the cookies is 1.8 oz. Below is the weight for each of our cookie flavors:

How long do your cookies stay fresh?

Our cookies are made with the freshest ingredients and we proudly don’t use any preservatives or hydrogenated oil, therefore our cookies will be their freshest for at least 6 days. We suggest keeping them in an airtight container or wrapped in the plastic bags they arrive in. You view and save/print our Cookie Care instructions here.

Can your cookies be frozen?

Absolutely! The cookies will stay fresh in the freezer for 3 months. Just be sure to follow the wrapping method below.

What’s the best way to store the cookies?

Keep cookies in an airtight container or in the sealed plastic bags they arrive in. For freezing, we recommend placing plastic sealed cookies inside of a resealable plastic bag before freezing. If the cookies are not in their original bag, we recommend wrapping individual or two same flavor cookies together in plastic wrap before placing them inside of a resealable plastic bag. When ready to eat, we suggest leaving the cookies out and letting come to room temperature before eating. You can also refrigerate our cookies for up to three weeks to extend their freshness, just keep them in an airtight container and let them come to room temperature before you eat them. If you like your cookies warm, you can either warm them in a microwave for approximately 18 to 20 seconds or preheat an oven to 350°F and warm them for approximately 1 ½ to 2 minutes.

What if I have allergies?

Some of our cookies contain nuts but all of our cookies are made on shared equipment that may contain traces of peanuts and tree nuts. Our cookies contain flour and dairy, which may not be suitable for people with gluten and dairy allergies.

We all want to help create a cleaner, safer, healthier environment. Here at Alexandra’s Cookie Dreams™ we have a company commitment to reuse, recycle and cut down on material and energy waste. Here are some of the ways we are acting on our responsibility:

  • We reuse shipping boxes and packing materials that we receive from vendors to our ship cookies.
  • Our metal tins, clear boxes and white boxes are designed to be re-usable for other purposes.
  • All cookies are sealed in plastic bags that fit exactly to the size of the cookie to reduce plastic waste.
  • Whenever possible we reduce fuel and energy usage by relying on local vendors for our food, packaging and supply needs.
  • We reduce use of energy by hand-cutting our chocolate and nuts and not using motorized grinders.
  • We recycle paper, plastic and glass in our company office and commercial kitchen.

The name of the organization is DonorChoose.org © and their website is http://www.donorchoose.com. DonorChoose.org © is an organization pioneered by teachers at a Bronx, New York public high school in 2000 who saw first-hand the scarcity of material in the public school classrooms. They created a nation-wide website as a forum for citizens to donate directed contributions that provide materials for out-lined projects in public schools.

What do you do with my/ my gift recipient's email address?

We do not share email addresses with anyone other than UPS, and for shipping notification purposes only. We will not spam you. We value your privacy, and treat all personal information as secure and confidential. Please read our Privacy and Security Policy.

The recipient email at checkout is used to ensure your gift recipient knows he/she has a package, so their gift is recieved at its freshest. If you provide this email, we will have UPS send a delivery confirmation email so that your gift recipeint knows he/she has a package waiting at their address. We will not send any other emails, or add them to any mailing lists, and if you're worried about spoiling the surprise, your gift recipient will only get this email once their package has been delivered.

If you purchase one of our cookie gifts, you can expect a purchase confirmation email, and UPS shipping and delivery confirmation emails.
